Thanks to you, the voters of East Tennessee, I earned the Democratic nomination for US House in Tennessee's First District on August 7th.  Now comes an even tougher battle: becoming the first Democrat in over a century to capture this seat.

I'm looking forward to this fall's campaign, and I encourage you to get involved. As a middle-class educator with a wife and two young children, I'm not the typical 'deep pockets' political candidate. Instead, I am relying on grass roots support.
